Construction has been completed or is nearing completion on most of the major, interstate natural gas pipelines in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions, according to Farm and Dairy. All of them are either in service or will be later this year.

The 713-mile Energy Transfer Rover Pipeline and the 160-mile TransCanada Leach XPress are both already in service, while the Kinder Morgan Utopia line is expected to be operating this month. The Enbridge Nexus line remains under construction but is expected to be in service by the end of the year.

The Leach, Rover and Nexus lines will all transport natural gas, with a combined capacity of about 6.25 billion cubic feet per day. The Utopia line will transport 50,000 Bbls of ethane per day.
