Natural gas will remain primary source of electricity generation

The United States Energy Information Administration recently forecast that natural gas will remain the primary source of U.S. electricity generation for the next two years, as part of the 2018 January Short-Term Energy Outlook, according to the Farm and Dairy.
The amount of total electricity supplied by natural gas-fired power plants is expected to average 33 percent in 2018 and 34 percent in 2019, which is an increase from 32 percent in 2017.
The mix of energy sources used for generating electricity continues to shift in response to changes in fuel costs and the development of renewable energy technologies.
