Pittsburgh Business Times reports that Noble Energy is another oil and natural gas company cutting its southwestern Pennsylvania workforce in the wake of low energy prices.
The newspaper reports that the company is cutting 220 positions, 20 of which are in southwestern Pennsylvania. The company says the cuts are designed to keep its organizational structure aligned with expected activity in each shale play.
Consol Energy recently announced its decision to lay off 5 percent of its workers. Noble and Consol are jointly developing the Marcellus Shale.
