Northeast Natural Gas recently announced it will seek responsibly sourced natural gas certification, joining Chesapeake and EQT to become the third producer to do so, according to Business Wire.

The company announced it would work toward MiQ and Equitable Origin certifications last Thursday. It will deploy the LUMEN Terrain continuous emissions monitoring technology to monitor its natural gas production facilities and help earn its certifications.

The move will make Northeast Natural Gas the first private equity-backed natural gas company to certify its entire field via MiQ and Equitable Origin certifications.

Northeast Natural Gas has about 100 wells and 115 billion cubic feet of natural gas production along the Pennsylvania border in West Virginia.
