ODNR issues seven more Utica permits

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources awarded seven permits for oil and gas wells in the Utica shale during the week ended Jan. 12, according to The Youngstown Business Journal.

Rice Drilling LLC received six permits for wells in Belmont Count. Gulfport Energy Corp. received the final permit for a new well in Harrison County.

As of Jan. 12,  the ODNR has issued 2,976 permits across the Utica — 2,505 of these wells are drilled and 2,128 were in production.
