Columbus Business Journal reports that an $11 million grant has been awarded to Ohio State University and West Virginia University to build a shale research lab and test site.
The Marcellus Shale Energy and Environment Laboratory site will be located in Morgantown, West Virginia. Aside from researching best practices for shale drilling, the center will host trainings for undergraduate students.
Both the Marcellus and Utica Shales will be studied; OSU will focus on the Utica Shale while WVU focuses on the Marcellus Shale
