Who owns the mineral rights?
According to The Plain Dealer, the Ohio Supreme Court will decide on two cases regarding the ownership of mineral rights for properties in Harrison County.
Information about who manages mineral rights that have not been active in 20 years is detailed in the Ohio Dormant Minerals Act.
From The Plain Dealer:
“Ultimately the Supreme Court’s decisions will settle who reaps the profits from extracting natural gas and other resources from the land.”
