Natural gas from Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia will make its way south by way of a newly proposed pipeline, according to The Business Journal.

Four energy companies have formed Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC, a partnership that has decided to expand the shale natural gas market to consumers in Virginia and North Carolina. One of the companies involved in the project, Dominion, will construct and operate the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

Construction is not expected to begin until after next summer. Currently, the pipeline’s route is not determined.

From The Business Journal:

“Dominion has begun surveying to determine the best route, one that meets operational and reliability needs while minimizing the impact on the environment, the company said.”
