The need for pipelines in Utica and Marcellus Shale region to carry gas and liquids to southeastern Pennsylvania for processing and exports has been voiced by natural gas industry executives for some time now.
StateImpact Pennsylvania reports that Philadelphia could become an “energy hub” for manufacturers that would bring business to the area.
What’s stopping the pipelines from being built? Producers are concerned that there won’t be long term demand for gas, and that there won’t be enough supply for buyers in the long run.
