A pipeline carrying natural gas from Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio will pass through Stark County if approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, according to The Canton Repository.

The Rover pipeline would start at the gas processing plant in Leesville, Ohio, in Carroll County, and travel through portions of Tuscarawas, Stark and Wayne Counties until it reaches the Midwest Hub in Defiance, Ohio. It could be opened by the end of 2016 if approved. A line extending from Defiance to Canada’s Union Gas Hub could be opened by June 2017.

Energy Transfer proposed the pipeline, while NEXUS Gas Transmission Project proposed a second pipeline that would begin in Columbiana County, Ohio and stretch to Michigan and Canada.
