State leaders team up at Tri-State Shale Summit

West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Lieutenant Governor of Ohio Mary Taylor spoke at the Tri-State Shale Summit in Morgantown, West Virginia. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf spoke remotely via video.

The Tri-State Shale Summit was held Oct. 12-13 in Morgantown, West Virginia.

StateImpact Pennsylvania reports that the Marcellus and Utica shale states — Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio — are going to work together to develop the region for shale manufacturing.

At the event, the three states announced a three-year cooperation agreement. This agreement will include support for railroads, pipelines and roadways used to ship natural gas and other products as well as research, emergency response and education.
