Sunoco Logistics has plans to repurpose a century-old refinery into a natural gas hub in eastern Pennsylvania, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette PowerSource.
The refinery, located in Marcus Hook, could become a natural gas liquids (NGL) manufacturing plant for the east coast.
Sunoco is also behind two other pipelines projects. Mariner East 1 will span the distance between Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and Marcus Hook. Mariner East 2 will start in Scio, Ohio and run through West Virginia’s panhandle and Pennsylvania until it connects with a hub in Washington County. Then both pipelines will run parallel to Marcus Hook, where the NGLs could be exported.
