A Trumbull County township experienced an earthquake on Aug. 31, though very few people felt it, according to WFMJ.
The 2.1 magnitude earthquake, originally measured to be 1.8 magnitude, was centered in Weathersfield Township at the site of two injection wells. Earthquakes of magnitude 3 or less are generally not felt at all, or are only felt by people who happen to be at the right place at the right time.
Several other earthquakes thought to be connected to fracking have occurred in the Mahoning Valley over the past few years, including a 4.0 magnitude earthquake in Youngstown in late 2011, as well as five in March 2014
