The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued 14 new permits for fracking wells in Ohio’s Utica shale to two energy companies during the final week of September, according to The Youngstown Business Journal.
Ascent Resources received 10 of the 14 new permits, according to the ODNR. Seven of the permits are intended for Jefferson County and the remaining for Belmont County.
The final four permits were approved for Triad Hunter LLC. The company plans to drill new wells in Monroe County.
