Sixteen new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended July 24, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Pennsylvania issued eight new permits from July 18-24. Greylock Energy and Pennsylvania General Energy claimed the three permits each to drill in Green County and Tioga County, respectively. EQT and Seneca Resources both received one new drilling permit.
West Virginia issued eight new drilling permits. Four went to Jay-Bee Oil & Gas to drill in Tyler County and four went to Tug Hill Operating to drill in Wetzel County.
