Eighteen new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from April 3 to April 9, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Pennsylvania issued 13 new drilling permits during the time period. EQT received seven of those permits to drill in Fayette County and Washington County. Coterra received four permits to drill in Susquehanna County.
West Virginia issued five new permits during the time period. Northeast Natural Energy received four permits to drill in Monongalia County.
Ohio didn’t issue any new permits from April 3 to April 9.
A week prior, from March 27 to April 2, 21 new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
