Twenty-one new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from Nov. 28 through Dec. 4, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
West Virginia saw the most permitting activity, issuing 12 new permits during the week ended Dec. 4. Pennsylvania issued five new permits and Ohio issued three new permits.
Overall activity was up from the previous week. Seventeen new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from Nov. 21 to Nov. 28.
