24 permits issued for shale wells in Ohio and Pa. during week ended April 3

Twenty-four new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio and Pennsylvania during the week ended April 3, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania issued 14 new permits. EQT Corp received eight with seven of them for a single well pad in Fayette County. Cotter Energy received three new permits for a single well pad in Susquehanna County.

Ohio issued 10 new permits. Utica Resource Operating received three permits for a single well pad in Guernsey County. Encino Energy also received three permits for the same well pad in Harrison County.
