24 shale drilling permits issued in Ohio, Pa., W. Va. during week ended July 31

Twenty-four new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended July 31, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania issued two new permits from July 25-31. Chesapeake Energy and Olympus Energy each received one permit.

Ohio issued 14 new drilling permits. Encino Energy claimed eight of those and Utica Resources operating received four.

West Virginia issued eight new drilling permits. Antero Resources received seven of those permits.
