59 shale drilling permits issued in Ohio, Pa., W. Va. for week ended Jan. 29

Fifty-nine new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from Jan. 23-Jan. 29, according to Marcellus Drilling News.
Pennsylvania issued 34 new permits during the time period. Chesapeake Energy received 13 of those to drill wells in Bradford County, Pa.
Ohio issued 24 new permits from Jan. 23-Jan. 29. EOG Resources received eight to drill wells in Noble County, Ohio.
West Virginia issued only one new drilling permit during the time period.
A week prior, from Jan. 16 to Jan. 22, 14 new permits were issued to drill shale wells in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
