The Patriot-News reports that three of the Marcellus Shale Earth First protesters who blocked a road to a gas well in Lycoming County have been sentenced.

A total of 20 protesters blocked the Lycoming County, Pennsylvania road March 20. The three who have been sentenced chained themselves to a pipe and had to be freed from the pipe by over a dozen state troopers and emergency personnel. Two others are waiting for trial.

The Marcellus Shale Earth First group consists of environmental activists who oppose horizontal drilling, or fracking, at natural gas wells.
