Chesapeake sells 27 wells in Utica to Geopetro LLC

Geopetro LLC acquired 27 wells and 37,000 acres of land from Chesapeake Appalachia LLC last month, according to Columbus Business First.

Located in Columbiana County, Ohio, and Beaver County, Pennsylvania, most are natural gas producers in the Utica shale play.

Moving forward Geopetro’s focus will be in developing the wells that have already been drilled and are producing.

Terms of the deal were not released.
