Chevron donates $260K to food banks, first responders in Pa., W. Va.

Although Chevron Appalachia recently announced plans to divest its Marcellus and Utica shale operations, it’s provided $260,000 in funding to local first responders and food banks in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.

The company will provide $200,000 total to volunteer fire departments in southwestern Pennsylvania and West Virginia — $5,000 each to the departments in Greene, Fayette, Westmoreland and Marshall County, West Virginia. Additionally, it will $10,000 each will be given to to food banks in Allegheny, Washington, Greene, Fayette, Westmorland and Marshall counties.

Chevron Appalachia Corporate Affairs Manager Trip Oliver said in a statement that it was “deeply grateful for the service of the emergency responders, medical professionals, and community leaders on the front lines who are keeping our communities safe during these challenging times.”
