In April, Chevron Corp. will begin to lay off workers April 2, according to The Beaver County Times. The layoffs will occur at the two Moon Township locations and the Smithfield location.
Some layoffs might not occur until the end of December, depending on the number of temporary assignments offered as well as the number of employees placed in other business units.
Chevron announced in late 2014 that the company was restructuring in order to improve efficiency and organization, especially in light of current shale activity in the region. However, Chevron asserts that it will make long-term investments in the Marcellus and Utica Shales.
