CNX Resources Corp. recently reported it was successful in bringing its problematic Utica Shale well in Westmoreland County, Pa., under control, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Although the company continues to evaluate the cause of the initial pressure anomaly, it believes the problem is isolated to its Shaw 1G well and it will continue to monitor the well for the next several days.
The problem began a week from Saturday when CNX was fracking its Utica Shaw 1G well and lost pressure on it. Over the next week, the company discovered pressure spikes at nine nearby conventional wells, which it was flaring on Monday to relieve the pressure.
