CNX Resources, a pioneer in the deep Utica Shale, suspended hydraulic fracturing at its Shaw 1G well in the Utica Shale in Pennsylvania, following gas release, according to Seeking Alpha.
After stopping fracking activities, the company began to remediate and arrest the subsurface flow of natural gas from the well.
CNX says no injuries and no impact to the environment has occurred because of the problem. The company is working with state and local regulators to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
