Community College gets $100,000 for cracker plant training

The CEO of CJ Betters Enterprises Inc., Chuck Betters, donated $100,000 to the Community College of Beaver County to purchase equipment that will be used to train workers for Shell Chemicals ethane cracker plant, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.

The Process Technology program will use the money to buy simulation software, pilot plants and benchtop trainers.

The Beaver County developer’s decision to make the investment was founded in an effort to show support for the local workforce helping prospective workers qualify for jobs in the emerging industry.
