Last Thursday, Delaware County filed a petition with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to join a lawsuit filed by area residents against the owners of the Mariner East pipelines, according to The Inquirer.
if the motion is granted it would allow lawyers representing the county to present evidence, call or cross-examine witnesses and file briefs in the case.
The case was originally brought on by seven residents of Delaware and Chester Counties against Sunoco and its parent company, Energy Transfer Partners. The residents’ complaint alleges numerous safety risks associated with the pipeline project.
