The U.S. rig count increased by double-digit figures for the second week in a row, according to the latest total from Baker Hughes Co.
The U.S. rig count increased by 10 — six natural gas-directed rigs and four oil-directed rigs — during the week ended Feb. 18, propelling the total to 645, according to Natural Gas Intelligence. The recent jump follows a 22-rig surge the week prior.
The 645 active U.S. rigs represent an increase of 248 rigs year-over-year, according to Baker Hughes data.
