According to the Energy Information Administration, U.S. natural gas production in the seven key shale fields of the Lower 48 will increase by 426 Mmcf per day from February to March.
The EIA modeled total production of 96.591 Bcf per day in March from the seven regions tracked in its latest Drilling Productivity Report. The tracked regions include Haynesville, Bakken, Eagle Ford and Niobrara formations, as well as the Anadarko, Appalachian and Permian basins.
The Haynesville shale is expected to see the most growth, adding 131 Mmcf per day to total 16.602 Bcf per day of total output. The Appalachian Basin is expected to add 80 Mmcf per day.
