The Permian Basin and Haynesville Shale are poised to keep natural gas production climbing into January, according to the Energy Information Administration’s latest monthly Drilling Productivity Report.
The EIA expects natural gas production to increase by a combined 341 MMcf/d to 89.346 Bcf/d in January in seven major regions — the Anadarko, Appalachian and Permian Basins and Bakken, Eagle Ford, Haynesville and Niobrara shales.
The Permian is projected to increase output by 115 MMcf/d from December to January to 19.688 Bcf/d — the largest output increase. The Haynesville is projected to increase output by an estimated 104 MMCf/d during the same time period to 14 Bcf/d.
