EIA: US crude inventories increase 200,000 bbl week-over-week

U.S. crude inventories increase 200,000 bbl week-over-week, excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, for the week ended Sept. 23, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Sitting at 430.6 million bbl, crude oil inventories are about 2% below the 5-year average for this time of year.

Motor gasoline inventories decreased by 2.4 million bbl week-over-week and are about 6% below the 5-year range for this time of year, according to the EIA. Finished gasoline inventories increased, while blending component inventories decreased. Distillate fuel inventories also decreased and are about 20% below the 5-year average for this time of year.
