U.S. crude oil stockpiles fell to their lowest levels since October 2018 as gasoline inventories continued to rise amid weak demand, the Energy Information Administration said last week.
During the week of Jan. 7, crude inventories fell 4.6 million barrels to 413.3 million barrels. Reuters’ poll had estimated analysts’ expectations around a 1.9-million-barrel drop.
Simultaneously, The U.S. gasoline supply rose by 8 million barrels during the same period to 240.8 million barrels. Analysts expected to see a 2.4-million-barrel increase.
