The EQT Foundation, the philanthropic extension of EQT Corporation, awarded the Utica Shale Academy a $25,000 grant in June to be used for the school’s heavy equipment operator and maintenance program, according to The Review.
“We are impressed with the work and dedication of the students and faculty at the Utica Shale Academy as they train the next generation of employees who will help to fuel and grow the energy industry here in Appalachia,” said Ellen Rossi, president of the EQT Foundation.
The Utica Shale Academy provides a specialized academic program that responds to employers’ and industries’ current and emerging and changing global workforce needs.
