EQT announced it has joined Climate and Clean Air Coalition’s Oil & Gas Methane Partnership, an initiative committed to lowering methane emissions in line with the Paris climate accord, according to Natural Gas World.

The oil and gas companies who’ve joined the initiative are responsible for more than 30% of global oil and gas production. The newest participant, EQT, is the largest natural gas producer in the United States.

EQT’s recent declaration followed a similar commitment to ensure a majority of its production in the Marcellus Shale is certified as responsibly sourced gas by the end of the year.
