Equitrans Midstream Corp. hopes to complete the Mountain Valley Pipeline by next summer and plans to get started on an extension next year, according to Pittsburgh Business Times.
The company recently confirmed it hopes to begin construction on MVP Southgate, an extension of the 303-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline into North Carolina, in 2022, with an in-service date of 2023.
MVP Southgate construction is dependent on the Mountain Valley Pipeline being in operation before work can start. The extension will make it possible for natural gas from the Marcellus Shale to travel to North Carolina.
