Last Friday, Equitrans Midstream stopped a natural gas leak that released more than 1.1 billion cubic feet of methane emissions over 11 days at the Rager Mountain storage facility in western Pennsylvania, according to Seeking Alpha.
Equitrans crews successfully flooded the storage well to stop the flow of natural gas.
The company estimated the well was emitting gas at a rate of 100Mcf/d, which Bloomberg analysis equated to a total range of 15,800 to 20,300 metric tons of methane.
Equitrans reported customer nomination levels were being met last Thursday. However, it does not know when the Rager Mountain storage facility will return to full service.
