PITTSBURGH — Penn State Extension is offering the series “Allegheny County Shale Gas Summer Series: Beyond Marcellus” Tuesday evenings, from 7 to 9 p.m., beginning June 26 and meeting every other Tuesday through Aug. 21. The series will be held in Oakland, at Rodef Shalom Congregation-Levy Hall, 4905 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
Presentations and discussions will focus on the environment, regulations, business and employment opportunities, the infrastructure needs of the natural gas industry and how it might affect communities.
The topics are scheduled as follows:
June 26 Marcellus & Beyond: Business Voices of Experience.
July 10 Marcellus & Beyond: Environmental Voices of Experience.
July 24 Marcellus & Beyond: Legislative Voices of Experience.
Aug. 7 Marcellus & Beyond: Workforce Voices of Experience.
Aug. 21 Marcellus & Beyond: Infrastructure Voices of Experience.
Pre-registration is required and is available online at http://agsci.psu.edu/shale-gas-marcellus. Interested individuals can register to attend the entire series for $60; or for individual sessions at $15 each.
