The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission recently approved part of TransCanada’s $600 million Gulf XPress natural gas pipeline for service in Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee, according to NASDAQ.
The Gulf XPress pipeline is designed to connect growing output in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio with customers in the southeast United States and Gulf Coast.
The 0.88-billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) project also includes construction of seven new compressor stations in Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi.
