Gas prices hit a new high of $4.17 a gallon

Gas prices have been steadily rising for weeks and hit a new high in the United States on Tuesday, according to The New York Times.
The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline hit $4.173, according to AAA, which surpassed the previous high national average of $4.114 in July 2008.
The new national average is an increase of about 72 cents from a month ago and an increase of about 55 cents in the past week.
Adding to pressure at the pumps for some Americans, President Biden announced a ban on importing Russian energy into the United States.
