Gas production growing in southwestern Pennsylvania

There has been a geographic shift in natural gas development since 2014 from the northeast to southwestern section of Pennsylvania, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Overall, production is up 31.8 percent since 2014 and 162.5 percent from 2012. The northeast section of the state, which has historically produced the most gas, has been supplemented by the southwest to achieve this feat.
Ten counties were major contributors to the production increases, producing more than 10 million McF in 2017. Of those 10, six are located in southwestern Pennsylvania.
