Russia’s state-owned energy corporation, Gazprom, has produced 10.4% less natural gas since January, as pipeline exports to Europe have been cut 33.1% so far this year, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.
Russian natural gas production totaled 249.7 billion cubic meters between Jan. 1 and July 15, which was down 29.1 Bcm compared to the same period in 2021, according to Gazprom’s preliminary estimates.
During the same time period, natural gas exports to countries outside of the Soviet Union totaled 71.9 Bcm, which is 35.6 Bcm less year-over-year. However, Russia has increased exports to China.
