A natural gas well in Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania, operated by Chevron, exploded and caught fire Tuesday morning, resulting in one injury and one missing worker, according to WTAE.
The fire was first reported at around 6:45 a.m. at the Lanco 7H well, near Bobtown, Pennsylvania, 50 miles south of Pittsburgh.
WTAE reports this is the first serious Marcellus Shale well blowout in western Pennsylvania.
Well blowout experts from Wild Well Control in Houston are working out a plan to extinguish the fire.
