Ohio Gov. John Kasich has called for 24/7 emergency hotline solely for oil and gas companies.
WKSU reports that the hotline will connect companies with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Environmental Protection Agency, the state fire marshal, among other agencies, with one call so that the proper agency can be notified as soon as possible.
According to the source, the hotline should help to provide quicker response to oil and gas accidents, thus helping to protect the community and the environment.
