A Pennsylvania judge has dismissed some provisions of an Indiana County, Pennsylvania, community’s ordinance that intended to prohibit injection wells.
The federal judge ruled in favor of Pennsylvania General Energy Co. Oct. 14, saying that the company’s use of land for oil and gas activities was appropriate, according to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The ordinance, Grant Township’s Community Bill of Rights was drafted by the Mercersburg Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund. The group may appeal the ruling.
