Marathon Petroleum Corp. crews are beginning to pave the way fro the construction of a 50-mile pipeline with a 12-inch diameter, according to The Courier.
The project will stretch from Harpster in Wayandot County to Lima in Allen County. Marathon estimates it will take 500 people, working 1.4 million hours to complete.
The pipeline is part of a $500 million investment by Marathon subsidiary, MPLX, to create a network of pipelines to move oil and gas products from Utica shale wells in eastern Ohio to refineries in the Midwest.
