Rex Energy Corp. will begin transporting ethane, propane and butane from the Marcellus shale to Europe. The company signed an agreement with INEOS Europe AG, a company that has spent billions of dollars to bring U.S. shale gas to Europe.

The Business Journal reports that ethane shipments will begin this month and propane and butane shipments will begin when the Mariner East 2 pipeline is completed next year.

The Mariner East Pipeline will take the natural gas liquids to the Marcus Hook terminal in eastern Pennsylvania and then it will be shipped by sea to petrochemical plants in Europe.
