Despite recent allegations against the Mariner East natural gas pipeline system, the Mariner East 2 pipeline is now in service, according to Seeking Alpha.

The Mariner East natural gas pipelines have been accused of causing sinkholes and polluting drinking water and waterways across southern Pennsylvania during construction. As a result, a criminal investigation was opened against the project by Tom Hogan, the district attorney of Chester County, Pennsylvania.

The Mariner East 2, a part of Energy Transfer Partner’s Mariner East system, will allow natural gas liquids to be carried from the Marcellus and Utica shales and transport them to premium foreign markets.
