As much as 168 million gallons of natural gas liquids will be stored in underground salt caverns located 12 miles south of the PTT Global Chemical ethane cracker, eliminating one of the plant’s bigger obstacles.
According to The Intelligencer, the Monroe County storage facility will be the first of its kind in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.
The facility will be named Moutaineer NGL Storage. Although it will be located on the Ohio side of the river, it will be within sight of Marshall County’s Blue Racer Midstream Natrium natural gas processing plant.
