Mountain Valley Pipeline is seeking a new panel of judges to hear the next proceedings in its legal battle with environmentalists, according to The Washington Post.
Last month the company filed a motion requesting the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to assign a new panel at random, The Roanoke Times reported.
The three-judge panel the company wishes to replace has presided over 12 challenges of government approvals for the Mountain Valley Pipeline and vacated or stayed all but two of the permits.
Legal battles have delayed completion by almost 4 years and doubled its cost, which is now estimated to be $6.6 billion.
